Looking for OUSA 1995 Convention Book
Mods, feel free to move this if it's in the wrong section
Would anyone happen to know where/if I can buy a copy of the 1995 OUSA convention book? I've searched high and low and come up empty. (It seems to be out of print.)
Thanks in advance!

You may want to try The Source at Origami USA .
They don't seem to still carry the 1995 edition, but do have the 1981-1995 collection available for sale.
You may look at the index, of that book, to see if the models that you desire are included.

I saw that already. All I really want is Lang's Flying SHB, but that doesn't seem to have made it in.

If you are a OUSA member, and live in the United States, you can borrow the book from the Lending Library on the OUSA site.
Otherwise, to locate the Syncopated Heuristic Bug,that you hint at, try Origami Insects II at Origami-Shop or Origami Insects and Their Kin at Amazon ( which may well be a simplified version of the " SHB" , but don't know for sure .)
Also, in the unlikely event that I would want to fold this beetle, I would go to the Origami Database, and check out more versions by several other designers as well .
There are many available , in various sundry publications .

Re: Looking for OUSA 1995 Convention Book
The Flying SHB is a Samurai Helmet Beetle.
I have both of those books, and the Flying Samurai Helmet Beetle isn't in either of them. There's a ton of SHBs out there, and maybe I could fold the one from Insects II, but the only flying one I know of other than Lang's is Seth Friedman's from Licence to Fold. Maybe I could fold that one too, but I want to try Lang's really bad.

Re: Looking for OUSA 1995 Convention Book
Thank you for clarifying the model. In that there is a specific type that you desire, you might want to also include the Opus # as well , if there is one.
Ultimately, the best bet seems to be borrowing the book from the OUSA lending library.
Weaker options might include asking around prior to a convention that you attend, joining a club and hope that they might have info, and lastly, contacting Robert Lang directly, for advice , although I would imagine that he is quite busy.
Finally, in time, your post will be seen by more & more folks and the options may improve.
Good luck !

I don't remember seeing the opus number anywhere, but I had been considering contacting him. I had the privelege of meeting him two years ago, and he seemed like a pretty nice guy.
And thanks!

Even though some of the other flying SHB's are pretty good, NONE compare to the designing quality of Lang. His designs are efficient, fun to fold, and most of all, they look super real in the end
