Any Tips for Designing Planes?

I am interested in designing an origami plane. I know there should be 4 long flaps (wings, cockpit, tail,) and other small flaps (Propeller, Wheels, and Tail flaps), but what base should I start with and what paper should I use? Please help me....please?

It actually depends on what planes are you going to fold.Any specific plane in mind?

I am trying to find a way to design my own WWII-era planes, such as the ME 262 and the Spitfire.

I found some of WWII planes folded from other origamists but I don't think there are any crease patterns or diagrams existing to help you .Maybe crease pattern of Zero Fighter of Kamiya's design would be helpful? I can send you the cp if you want. One of my friend have designed a origami WWII plane and posted on his blog(http://blog.naver.com/jiho0910). Maybe you can see and get some inspirations on designing?
Also, I have designed some planes some years ago and something that can be useful and easy to use was a traditional plane. You just have to give some pleating-grafting to have the detail and give some blintzing to change the ratios of the parts(at least this was the easiest way for me )

0[]0 Wow, that's too hard for a 10 year old. do you have an idea for a base, i.e. the frog base would be
[==] good for simple insects. or the bird base is good for simple birds. I'm also wondering about how to make a gun for the plane, because I don't know a base with that many flaps. Thanks!
