i've been looking here in the forums, and it seems there are only a few posts about snapology models.. maybe if we can post all Snapology related stuff here for anyone interested (me!) that would be great.. can anyone share thoughts on how to construct certain designs, how many strips are needed, what polygons, etc.?
no nothing like that, it is modular origami using strips(rectangles) instead of squares, that you "snap" together.. there are a few tutorials on the web on how to assemble them together, but very few instructions on how to make a certain design like the ones above..
But really, the whole point of this sort of modular is that once you know the basic folding method it should be possible to construct any shape. That's why there aren't further instructions-- you should be able to figure it out for yourself.
Ths all sounds very similar to things like RL's polypolyhedra.

Snapology is the work of the German folder Heinz Ströbel, originally called Schapology.
you can find info about his work on his homepage http://www.knotology.eu/
Knotology, another name!!
I researched it. That 1cm piece of plastic sounds important....

I do snapology models, Ive been doing them from a few years, I've completed many models few with over 3000 pieces, thw thing to know is you need paper strips and connectors, there is a difference between knotology and snapology though both are made using strips, knotology includes knotting paper strips and snapology includes joining them.
