Foil paper from cigarette packs

While I certainly agree that cigarettes are lethal, and a very destructive addiction, at least the paper can be utilized for a positive end result.
The paper from the " box " type seems to be more easily extracted.
Here's the procedure:
1.) Start with a candle recessed within it's glass container.
2.) Visually locate the glue points where the foil adhears to the paper box.
3.) Hold the box over the candle, with slight tension, warming at the exact glue point until you feel it give, then pull away. Repeat with each glue point .

4.) Obviously, be careful, use common sense to avoid fires, etc.
Once you have the foil paper, it can be sized for dollar bill folding and/or have tissue paper glued to one side.
Again, obviously, it's far better to buy foil paper, than to start up with smoking, but sometimes you just have to cope with the reality at hand.

Ive never tried to fold with cigarette packs, but when im bored in waiting rooms i buy chocolates and use the foil and tissue cover to fold something that delays the most. But the last time i was separating the foil from the tissue a man warned me that with that paper i could easily be seen as a drug dealer

Unfortunately in Austria they do not sell chocolate in foilpaper any more

Everything now is wrapped in plastic.
I wish I would find a store that sells foilpaper in the quality of those chocolate wrappers or the one that comes in cigarette packets in large rolls, but until now I had no luck in finding one.

Origami drug dealers.... that's a new one. Although unless you're rolling it into a joint I think you'll be fine.

This may be a little off-topic, many years ago there was a lady in my neighborhood who made animals with cigarette packets (not the foil). They were made using scissors and interlocking rings cut out from the packets. I guess some glue was used too...i have no idea. I have searched for it over the internet and found only instructions to make a dog but that lady made a variety of animals like giraffe, lion etc. Does anybody have more information about this?

About the foil paper in chocolates, i am planning on calling the 'Hershey' company located in Pennsylvania to get some information as they are the largest company here making chocolates. I will post the outcome here

I've noticed that the foil that you pull off to open a "hard pack" of cigarettes is 2:1. A hard pack is made of cardboard. I don't smoke, so I can't post a picture. The foil has a nice texture though.

Anna, I found this site where they sell chocolate foil by rolls...20 inches X 50 feet! And also available in some colours. I have no idea about the shipping charges though.

Yes, the surrounding pack paper is a light cardstock , so the foil adheres to it with a couple spots of glue.
Once removed, the foil paper can be cut to fit ratio of dollar bill, I believe it is 1:2.41 . Mainly, it's thin and takes tissue paper well, or can be folded as is.
Not a very glamorous solution, but I simply mention it as one of many paper options. Personally, I still like roll/gift wrap paper and kraft paper, and then supplement with tant and homemade paper.

I found out that the foil paper from the chowing-gum (orbit i think)
is very good, unfortunately it is too small.

I did fold a model with the foil from my husband's pack but I didn't like it. It is too flimsy. The thiness of it is nice but I like my paper to be a little bit stiffer. Just my opinion though.
