Hi Tim
Thanx for your interest.
Yes, the book is in its final stages and will hopefully be available in the next few months, but that's all I can say at the moment.
It won't be about designing really, there will be 21 fully diagrammed models over about 160 pages, mostly high intermediate to complex stuff (80-120 diagrams).
I will let you guys know more once the details are final.
Thanx
Quentin

I don't wanna be a pest, or reach to far, Quentin, is the list of models a secret until release of the book? or has no one asked?

Hi Tim
I am not self-publishing, so I'm really not sure how much I can say about the book really.
I think as soon as the final draft is at the printers I'll be able to say exactly which models etc will be in there and where to order it and so on.
I included some models that I like, and some were chosen by the publisher. There are no surprises though, because all the models are on my flickr page.
There have been a few ups and downs with the book, mainly converting my drawing files to the files that the printers use, so we lost alot of time there with editing, re-drawing etc. I don't expect any further such problems, but I can't say for sure.
I'm also pretty sure the books won't all sell out, so you'll be ok with the Afghani placement. How long are you going for, 3 months? My brother just finished his stint there in Kandahar a few months ago.
Anyway, good luck in Afghani and be safe!

Hi all
Yes, Quentin was enought crasy to give me his confidence to publish his book.
Lionel Albertino will finish the cover the next week.
But as Quentin said, we know several unusual problems to export well the diagram and that's explain the delay. So we can't give you yet any publication date and I prefer to delay the book in order to have the best quality. Quentin's amasing work is worth it.

Thanks for the quick answer Quentin. All your models are amongst my favorites(I'm actually about to fold your pig again
), so I can't wait to till the book drops..
I am supposed to be going for a year, but since my unit has already been deployed since JAN, I'm expecting to be deployed till DEC or JAN. Its gonna be rough but I can't wait to finally throw some rounds downrange. I'm glad your brother made it back safe I won't be to far from Kandahar, I actually think we are flying there, then taking Chinooks over to our camp.

@ Quentin : I am really exited to hear your are publishing through Nicolas Terry! I eagerly await it's release! (and that's a real bummer about the file conversions problems, messing around with that can be a pain!)
@ ArmyTim : Have a successful Tour of Duty, and stay safe!
