I have never understood whether this site was fake or not, but I am alarmed that people actually *buy* the origami boulders!

I always asked myself, who is more stupid, the one that is selling that rubbish or the one that is buying it.
even if it wasn't obviouosly a crumbled piece of paper the bad choice of words (dump, stupid) would show you, that it only can be a rip off.

When I'm doing an origami tutorial sometimes one of my students (I teach elementary students) gets frustrated with their model and crumples the while thing up. In these situations I pick it up and exclaim, "Wow! You've managed to fold an origami boulder!"
I've gotten a laugh every time! It keeps the atmosphere positive and encourages my students to try again. There was one time though that after I had examined the origami boulder in awe, the other students (some of which were well on their way to competing their model correctly) decided that they all wanted to fold origami boulders too! I guess that the lesson wasn't particularly successful... but the kids were so excited comparing boulders and asking me for more paper so that they could make another one.

As for this website, check the frequently asked questions if you want a laugh. Just don't call the Origami Boulder site a joke!
"You want joke? Look in mirror, you ugly person! This site real. You order wadded paper origami boulder and see for yourself"
The "Letters from dumb dumbs" section is also quite amusing...
