Post by mastermattdude »

Hi all.

I was looking online and I saw that Origami Dinosaurs 2 has an awsome Brachiasouras skeleton. Does anybody know where I could buy this book?

I got this book from a japanese book shop in the centre of new york. Sorry I dont remember the name of it.

Having looked througgh the book more thoroughly the skeleton is a bit dissapointing all the peices are awkwardly different sizes (i.e 2/9 the original size) and there are a LOT of pieces.)

Also, the Brachiosaurus skeleton was an old Tanteidan members special. (Not that I have it)

Origami Dinosaurs 2 (Japanese)
Fumiaki Kawahata (2001)
ISBN 4-416-30107-3

Diagrams look relatively clear, Text is in Japanese.
7 different sized squares, 45 total squares.

I searched for the ISBN on Google and found copies on Japanese and German sites.

Amazon.co.jp: http://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=nb_sb_nos ... &x=13&y=19

I think that Kinokuniya has it: http://www.kinokuniya.com/
The diagrams are on pp. 96 -110 . You'll need to ask about the book.
Kinokuniya may have been the bookstore in NYC.

funny you should say that, hank. i was just at kinokuniya in NY this past sat (8/21/10)--they had origami dinosaurs 1 & 3, but not 2 (their ave of americas location).

that said, shoppers should beware the korean version of origami dinosaurs 2, which does not have the brachiosaurus skeleton.

!!!! You caught me ! :-)

I did not check which country either, so Amazon may not be correct.

The last time I called kinokuniya (maybe that NYC location), they offered to order a book for me. Don't know if they can do it for Dinosaurs 2 ... and you do have to be careful of the language and communication issue.

In any case, I think I provided enough info, if you really want a copy of the book.

(Basically, this was the method I used to locate a copy of Harbin #4.... and Google does not have a Texan to British translator.)

I searched for ISBN 4-416-30107-3 in Google in the US
(Don't know if there is a French version)

and the 6th retrieval is:
http://www.viereck-verlag.de/index.php? ... ccordion=2

Let me know if that does NOT work. The front page and the translation appear to be the correct version.
(As bethnor implied, use my info to verify that you are buying the Japanese version of Dinosaurs 2 with the diagrams on pp. 96-110.)

P.S. For others, it is fairly easy to translate that site to your language.
