Eric Joisel's Inspiration

Post by rdrutel »

Eric Joisel was and still is a very large inspiration to me. His works are unique and carry their own story. Personally, I wish more of his works were published and we may still see that in his upcomming book. Till then I have spent many hours only trying to reverse engineer his models and coming up with certain ideas based off of his creations. The model I have probably folded the most often is his Rat, which I have given to many children in the pediatric ER I volunteer at and needless to say, has produced many smiles. The story above is of how Eric Joisel made an impact on me and how his origami through me, and probably through many of you, has reached so many others and produced so many smiles. I would love to hear from others if you have similar stories. Also, I leave a model clearly inspired by his work.
