Sometimes it seems like I get better response if it is several models together, in a theme.

The other day I was folding my design for a sarlacc (some Star Wars monster that looked like a good subject). It had eight tentacles and a beaked tongue. My parents asked, "is that a person?"
Personally I find it frustrating to fold for hours and end up with something nobody can identify... although I wouldn't expect anyone to recognize "sarlacc."

Well, I, like many others in here, mostly get possitive feedback. The only slightly negative comments, I usually get, are along the lines of "You have to much freetime!". I usually respond with: "Sure.", but that's just like my other default answers: "Do you know where X is?" "He/she/it fled", and so on.
Funny enough, I've noticed how I often get more feedback on simpler models, like the origami car by Charles Esseltine!

Poor student passing by!
Does anybody else get this:
Wow, you must get a lot of paper cuts!!
How many paper cuts have you gotten?
I think it's funny that people think I get tons of paper cuts. In fact, I've never gotten one. The worst I've gotten is a sore thumb. I try to explain why I don't get paper cuts, but when I start using terms like "raw edge" and what not, I usually lose them. Then I might explain with a piece of scrap paper, but that makes it even worse.

I think he meant to say I didn't get any paper cuts. Getting a paper cut is when you accidentally cut your finger by running it along the straight clean edge of a sheet of paper. It usually happens if the paper is very crisp -- like newly printed currency.HankSimon wrote:Wait a sec.
I thought that traditional Origami used a square of paper with no cuts !

I knew there was going to be a translation issue with that.
