As for my past book, I will propose an e-version with the hardbook. So if you choose the cheap economic postage to receive the hardbook (and so you need to wait for some weeks to receive it), you could at least fold immediately the models from the ebook.

Extract from Foreword by Robert Lang :

".......
But then, once in a blue moon, along comes a Bernie Peyton who appears full-blown on the origami scene with a unique vision and artistry. In the American origami world, that happened in 1998, at an origami convention design panel when a tall, unfamiliar man stood up and laid out an arrangement of his own designs, natural subjects that were astonishing in their life and elegance, and that were unlike any of the then-prevalent design schools. They were irregular, non-geometric, but incredibly lifelike. In fact, coming as they did, at the height of the technical revolution in origami, they served as an almost implicit rebuke to origami technicians: what was important in Bernie’s works were not points and flaps, but personality and life that were conveyed by an edge, a curve, a ripple. Nothing was flat, nothing was regular, nothing symmetric, but each of his natural forms conveyed their subject more deeply than any treatment had done to date.

As we learned more about this mysterious folder, we learned that it was partly because Bernie knows his subject more deeply than perhaps any other natural-subject origami artist. A trained field biologist who spent thousands of hours observing his quarry from the highlands of Peru (where his eponymous flower, Tristerix peytonii, may still be found) to the wilds of Alaska, Bernie understands how context and gesture can speak volumes about the natural form, and his origami designs rely on both. His designs are utterly unlike those of any other origami artists, and so this book provides a unique glimpse into the mind of a master and an opportunity to follow in his “foldsteps.”

Awesome! But I assume 2 hours to fold all of them, right?
Thank you Mr. Nicolas Terry!

Yes.
And probably only 30 minutes if you don't care about shaping and details

I saw the pages at CenterFold and can back up Nicolas on this one. Bernie is a talented artist, both in pen and paper. His diagrams were gorgeous (though I didn't have a chance to fold anything, so I can't speak to their veracity) and his models expressive and sometimes whimsical (like the surfboard with bite marks).

Bernie is a trained wildlife biologist, so Im not surprised at either the book's focus or the talent with which it was put together. He was absolutely wonderful to have in Columbus, he wanted to teach more classes than could physically occur in a weekend, and was out folding all the time. If you were at CenterFold this year your couldn't miss him. I recommend his work unreservedly.

I have no idea if those diagrams will be more or less useful for this beginner, but they are gorgeous!

I can speak for the quality of Mr. Peyton's Diagrams: they are absolutely top notch! I had the honor of test folding his shark diagrams along with the other lucky members of a class at the origami USA conference a couple of years back. The diagrams were both easy to follow, detailed, and a work of art in and of themselves. Needless to say I am looking forward to his book, especially to gain some insight on how he displays his models; it seems that he puts alot of thought towards displaying not only the models itself, but an element of it's natural habitat, to give it context. I think that's my favorite thing about his art.
If you can't fold it, try a bazooka.

Final Version of the cover. Made by Lionel Albertino with his daughter Lucie.

I give the cover to the printer today. The black and white pages should be flashed today (print on a metalic plate) to be printed in the next days on paper.
I'm working on the color page now.

The book looks great, Mr Terry :)

I'll be sure to buy it one day, there are so many great books coming out soon (Kamiya's third, Shuki's, Brian's, etc) I'm just not sure i'll have enough money!
