Worst Origami Fold?

As a tessellation folder I don't mind lots of boring precreasing or pleat making. Grids don't bother me much either. I enjoy closed sinks and open sinks but a few things bother me: odd ratios and choppy folding sequence. Spending seven hours locating creases for treemaker models is not worth it for me: i hate it. The second thing is unfolding everything. When you fold it for the first time it always comes as non-pleasant surprise....

very long repeat behind's annoy me alot, I remember a diagram where about 40 hard steps where repeated, that annoyed me VERY much.

Most of these are OK. Grids annoy me a little. Repeats only really annoy me when it's a long sequence that you have to do in mirror image.
My "favourite" instance is in one of Takashi Hojyo's diagrams,
step 27 is repeat steps 19 - 25 on the other three points
step 53 is repeat steps 48 - 52 on this flap
step 74 is repeat step 41-73 (including the repeat of steps 48 -52) in mirror image!
Phew!

don´t like repeating on the other side but learned how
I truly hate dividing into odd ratios.
next in the list repeat on the other side, but, i learned how to cope with this; what i do is first scan the whole diagram and see where it is going to be repeated on the other side, then after each step on one side i do it on the other one by one instead of repeating everything.
my favorite is sinks love them, love them my favorite so far is the one on seth friedmans cooper hawk the complicated one.

Aw, I was getting all excited! I thought this was about the worst model, not the worst technique...
Closed-back hex twists are the bane of my existence. Closed Unsinks are bad, but Lang is the only person to use them, and I run into them so rarely taht it's more of a puzzle instead of a pet peeve.
I don't know why you people don't like grids, they're the best part of folding a tessellation.

I hate repeating on the other side. Especially if there were a tens of folds before ;DD

hahaha I HATE that! Especially since you usually have to re-collapse it again with a few modifications.TheRealChris wrote:there is one sentence, that always makes mee taking a deeeeeeeep breath:

okay, here's the opinion of somebody who folds lots of needlessly complex stuff:
dividing into 17ths using binary method is like one of my favorite folds ever. also 11ths. also, pleat sinks/closed sinks are the fun parts of models. even pleating 64ths isn't so bad if you can zone out.
cleeearly the worst fold in origami is "repeat on the other side." just the thought of it makes my stomach lurch. you get one side all perfect, and then you gotta do it all again exactly the same. like srsly. why did animals and birds have to become all bilaterally symmetrical?
