If you could meet your favorite well known- or not- folder, who would it be and what would you say to praise his/her works?
I personally would love to meet Kade Chan from China...his dragon is AMAZING! And his werewolf I have learned to fold by heart...his blog is awesome too- like his demon-like cobra! If I could meet him I would say...you are so cool, how in the world do you have time to fold this amazing stuff....and keep on folding!

I have met Joseph Wu and he still is the origami artist I admire the most. And he is a great guy indeed

I don't matter how hard it is, I just fold it.

For me, I must say Robert Lang. I have only talked to him through email, but hope to meet him in real life soon.
He is very nice.

Re: Giving Praise and Thanks to...
I have several designers I really admire:
- Robert Lang: He is very nice, ALWAYS answers the e-mails I send him (and very fast also) and I admire his skills as a designer, folder and origami scientist
- John Montroll: he is the designer it al started with for me. I devoured his first books. Last year by accident I got in contact with him and with his help two of my designs were published in his book 'Origami Worldwide, which was a dream come true. Don't forget what his influence is on the origami world. There would be no Komatsu tiger without Montroll.
- Satoshi Kamiya: to me the best origami designer there is. His work is technically and esthetically very appealing. I only wished he'd publish a second volume of works. Every time a new Kamiya model pops up my fingers start to itch. His folding sequences and eye for detail are amazing.
- Hideo Komatsu: a designer I admire just as much as Kamiya. His models are truly unique and the great thing is his models ALWAYS turn out great. You can't fail and his folding sequences are very organic and unique. His iconic models like the hippo, tiger and sheep are among the best there are. I really advice you to buy his book!

Merman: As much as I love Lang and Kamiya, John Montroll is amazing! What's strange is, every time I fold a Kamiya or Lang model, I get a headache from the mathematical complexity used in the folding sequence. John Montroll, can create outstanding models like a reindeer, and the folding sequence doesn't seem so complicated at all.

I agree with you completely, but I'd like to add one more:merman wrote:I have several designers I really admire:

Hoang Tien Quyet - I love the elegance of his models and the organic quality of everything he folds. He's a brilliant designer, and there's just something in his work that's just awe-inspiring.
