Linking Iris Folding and Origami

Iris folding is a craft originating from Holland. Origami resource center has a page on it. Iris folding has nothing to do with origami, but i was wondering if anyone had made links between the two or impersonated one with the other. I like iris folding and i mimicked it in origami. It can be very irregular but suprisingly effective. Has anyone tried this? It isn't very hard until you start trying to get a particular finishing shape.
I am yet to look at the cp of mine but i think it would be interesting.
