Photographing transparent models?

Post by Gerardo »

I made a model with a transparency sheet. I tried to take a photo like I always do but it's hard to distinguish the model. Does any one have a tip for taking photos of transparent models?

pleeeeease :)

I don't have any experience, but the first thing that comes to mind is using a darker background and using a positioning a lightsource at the back of the model. Maybe turning the flash of on your camera. Not sure if it will work. Try experimenting with different background colors and changing the position of the light.
Hope this helps! Nice box btw. Looks like something you can by at IKEA !

Thanks!

I asked about this in a photography forum. Someone answered, he said basically what you said :)

He also added that I should place a reflector, or big white paper, behind the camera.

I'll try it when I have a little more time.

Thanks for your help!

I would recommend looking up guides on photographing glassware. Similar rules apply.
