Dear all,
My mother turns this April 63 years. I want to give for her birthday nguyen hung cuong eagle.
This is beacuase she likes eagle and origami.
I am very noob in folding I only know valley fold and Mountain fold.
My question to you all is where do I begin or is there someone who just start folding nguyen hung cuong eagle and want to discuss about it.
Thank you all for your help and reading.
Best regards,
Wodan

No newbie should be attempting Cuong's eagle yet. I count myself as an experienced folder (4+ years), and I've never been able to do it satisfactorily. (This due to bad paper, but still.)
I'd suggest practice easier models for a couple years, then give her an eagle for her 65th birthday or something.

aside from the difficulty, as baltorigamist points out, you also need really good paper to get a good result. for instance, the large rolls of foil you can buy from nicolas terry's origami shop are too thick and weak.

Hello,
Thank you all for your reply.
Do you have a tip for me to become a good folder? I want to take some courses in origami, but here in Holland I can not find. I guess no origami lover in Holland.

1) Experiment with different types and sizes of paper. (The Eagle needs at least 40-50cm.)
2) PRACTICE. I would recommend John Montroll's books for less experienced folders, but feel free to do anything you want. Fold different models with different levels of complexity.
