Welcome to "Paper People Collection"

Post by TERRY Nicolas »

Welcome to "Paper People Collection", a new Origami book collection that will be published in next months.
With this new collection, I will present new and innovative ways to present and publish origami Artwoks to bring you something different.

___________________________

The first book of this collection will be called "Drawing Origami".
It will be :
- a full color book
- a collective book dedicaced to the new generation of artists, supported by some great masters like Quentin Trollip and Roman Diaz for example.
- all diagrams draw by Halle who highlight the model with amasing drawings.

This book is the work of a Team : Halle / Pere Olivella / Nicolas Terry with of course all the authors who accepted to participate for this book.

I will present here step by step all models as soon as we fix their inclusion in the book .
We hope to publish it for Christmas 2013

Lets' start with 2 models:

New Owl by Roman Diaz

I will come back soon with other models....

That sounds very promising so far, even without the amazing diagrams shown!
I wonder how many books will be in the collection, and what will be presented in each...

Thanks for your positive feedback

Hope to tell you more when I could fix the next project with the artists.

>I look forward to see some complicated step.

That works pretty well because Halle draw from photos so no problems to draw 3D collapse or other strange thing. Even Robert Lang was interested for some of his models which has no folding sequence (but not yet Langs' model for this book, I'm afraid - not enought time before publication)

Anyway, we will include not only complex models. Several of our models will be intermediate but so cute. Please check this new addition : Joe coker by Patricio Kunz

Thanks Nicolas for your quick answer. It is very good idea to include also not so complex models.

This book looks very promising Nicolas. The diagrams look indeed very good, are they in english or in spanish, because step 23 of the fox is in spanish? and the rest is english? And I would like to know what model Q Trollip has contributed? Could you post pictures, or the links to the folded models aswell, either here on the above mentioned flickr link?

Book will be in English. Thanks to note the step 23 spanish text. We have to translate it again.
I publish here models as soon as I check and corrected the folding sequence. But we have yet a lot of work on each file, including proof-read text.

This is the process to include a model in a book :

1) Pere or an someone else take photos of each steps of the folding sequence
2) Halle draw each step
3) Pere draw symbols and rearrange the layout
5) I check the final folding sequence, draw new things if need corrections or need to improve the readibility, convert text, work on the layout and adapt it to the Standards printer
6) I publish here the diagram while I send it for final test to my editor dream Team that proof-read and check again all details (Willie, Patrick, Mehdi, Marcio, Ariel)

As you see, many persons are include in this project.

A diagram couldn't be include for many reasons, so I announce a model only when step 6 is reached.
