Hello, I have a problem with making tissue foil paper. It gets torn even while making models which are not so complex. Everyone says that this type of paper is very durable, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Does it really matter that I buy tissue paper in a regular shop (it's much cheaper there), rather than in www.origami-shop.com or other specialist shops? Or maybe is there anyproblem with the glue? I don't know if that would influence the durability of the paper. The aluminium foil doesn't make any difference, I guess (or maybe I'm wrong). I even tried spreading some CMC glue on top and the paper was a bit more durable, but the difference was really insignificant and the paper would still get torn when used for more complex models. So what am i
doing wrong?

Re: Tissue Foil - problem
are you using CMC to make the tissue foil? most people say that doesn't work.

Re: Tissue Foil - problem
For starters, you probably should use PVA (white glue) rather than CMC/MC. I suspect that's at the heart of the problem because even cheap tissue should work fine.
Re: Tissue Foil - problem
The foil really does make a difference. Cheap or recycled foil does break easier, but I've had fine results with Heavy Duty Reynold's, so give that a try.
