Guys i have to do a research project for school revolving around mathematics in art. We have to explore tessellations, penrose tiling and Escher's work. Now I want to know as much as possible about tessellations. Also which models would you suggest for me to fold and display?

Buy all the OSME books.

@ Razz by OSME do you mean the convention about Math and Origami? If so which one revolves around Tesselations? Also i am just in high school, so i dont need too much depth and detail.

They are a bit expensive if I remember correctly but there are table of contents for the third one here:

EDIT: if you go to the amazons for the 5th and 4th you can click the image of the cover where it says "look inside" or what ever and look over the table of contents for each.

Try John Montroll's book "Origami and Math: Simple to Complex". This book has great models and also does a really good job at explaining the mathematics at a less complex level.

I don't think anyone's ever worked on this subject. This being said there's not much to work on. The math behind origami tessellations is the same as with any other type of tessellations, just "cover the whole plane with the repetition of a pattern".
