Post by iRockSniffincoke »

I was looking at this guy's blog and I found this picture of Works Of Satoshi Kamiya 3 and I was wondering if this is legit. Heres the link:

no.

whether or not there will be a WOSK3 is up in the air, though it is likely. at the time of WOSK2, there were tons of published works that could be put together into one anthology. now that's no longer the case.

I think it looks like a photoshop. Some day he will write another book though. I doubt he'll ever diagram the ryuzin though.

if I remember correctly, this was last year's (or maybe the year before's) April Fools joke... Kamiya has a very cruel sense of humor.
though, one year, he did do a Works of Satoshi Kamiya 2 book cover with the phoenix 3.5 as the cover model for April Fools, and it actually did happen a few years later

Although it's far to soon for another anthology, and as pointed out this is just the 2012(?) April Fools cover, Kamiya does have almost enough models for a Vol 3.

Tanteidan Magazine
#110 Crane
#120 Veiltail Angelfish
#125 Longheaded Locust
#133 Giraffe
#141 Cattle
#144 Dog

Tanteidan Convention Books
#14 Samuri Helmet Beetle v2.1
#16 Loggerhead Seaturtle
#17 Spinosaurus
#18 Hercules beetle

JOAS Special Editions
2009 Horse
2013 Styracosaurus

Toss in a few unpublished models and you would have the 16 that were in Vol 2. What would people like to see as the crowning unpublished model. I'd vote for either his wasp or caribou.

Agreed. He already has them in WOSCO, right?

as a general rule of thumb (I learned this the hard way) with Kamiya, if it seems too good to be true, it is NEVER true.

unpublished models, that are diagramed:
-praying mantis

and most probably the crown jewel will be the tiger

I have a feeling that the tiger will be published in a book. Could be in a convention book, magazine, or his own book.

the problem is that that is still a lot less than what was published than when WOSK2 came out.

i mean, i won't mind if he cranks one out sooner. but it seems unlikely, given the previous pattern with gallery origami house books.

we have to look at the time period when those diagrams and models were done, I think there won't be any models in the wosk3 older than 2009

Origami is truly elegant.
