Crease Tool

Post by dinogami »

For those of you that do a lot of precreasing by connecting points with a ruler, you might be interested in this tool set:

The sharp point will cut through thin paper if creased too often, but the narrow tips are really useful! Reasonably priced, too.

I use a similar one with the spherical tip. It's so awesome! I use it for folding posterboard, folding-boxboard, and aluminium sheets :D.

for those of you who might be on the fence with this thing: i highly recommend it. for regular origami, its major use would be the annoying precreasing you sometimes have with the more complex models that are almost invariably way inside the model. like say, nguyen ngoc vu's great white. before your eyeballs would hurt while you try to remember the two, very often odd, reference points are, then creasing between them... then finding out you made a mistake then doing it again. with this tool, just take a ruler, line up the points, and voila.
