I always try my best simply because I'd like to be noticed both in and outside the origami community. I resize there are other factors to that, but it's rare for me to not give my best effort.

Re: What do you usually do with your best folds?
For me, when one of my models is finished, if I think it will fit with the rest of them I will place it on display on the shelf attached to my bed. If I'm dissatisfied with the model, I either put it in a drawer or throw it away (no evidence of my failure). If I've made a satisfactory duplicate of an already displayed item, I'll give it to members of my family.
I really wish I could go to a convention, I would love to display my models on more than just my shelf. That being said, my models are already photographed online, and most of my best models have been diagrammed.
Oh, and as for other artist's models, I typically don't showcase them. I either give them away or box them.

Thank you for all your answers .
A follow up question guys, so some of you mentioned you gave them away or you sold them. In that case, what do you expect others to do with your best folds once they own them?

Look at them and enjoy! they might try to unfold them but that would be a very bad idea, because my modles are often too complex for people to refold

Whenever I fold something, it never comes out perfect so I end up thinking, "I can fold it better next time". So most of my models gets trashed/put into a bag/box for revision. And the ones that I feel look pretty good, I would take a picture and post it on FB or Flickr.
I do sometimes give away my models. And I don't really care what they do with it

Thanks guys for your replies.
I still need more answers to get a more general idea. So what do you expect others to do with your best folds once they own them (be it a purchase or a gift)?

Re: What do you usually do with your best folds?
My best model to fold is the simplified Kawasaki Rose, as I have practiced it quite a lot. It's really useful for decorations at events and such, and therefore what I expect from people, if they own some of my roses, is simply that they don't mistreat them without reason. Like, I don't care all too much if a child accidentally ruined it from play, because that would mean that my fold managed to spread som joy. Of course, this is likely influenced by the Kawasaki Rose not being a too time-consuming model to fold.
It is the usual story of my best folds though.

I usually keep my best models, but occasionally people will offer money for them (along with the bad ones too, I sell those in a heartbeat!). Sometimes I accept, but I don't want origami to become like a job for me.
Re: What do you usually do with your best folds?
Thank you both! I totally get it Metangas, mistreating them without a reason means that they don't care for them... that would suck. Phillipcurl, what do you expect them to do with your best folds once they have bought them?
What about the rest of you guys ?
