Ryujin 3.5 paper

Post by JoeOrigami »

Hi,

I've recently been looking for paper that would be suitable to fold the whole ryujin. Does anyone know where I could find paper that is large enough, and preferably less than 40gsm. The largest so far I've managed to find is 90cm x 90cm kraft, which is thing enough, but would make a pretty small ryujin :? .

thanks in advance.

I think the best way is to glue two smalller papers. When I was folding mine, I glued two sheets 1m x 2m and I got a square about 2m side.

Do you still remember which site you bought your paper from (if you even bought it online)? all the papers I am finding are in rolls - about 10 times as much paper as I actually need.

Thanks!

How good would double tissue or similar be for ryujin? I've been looking for a while too and haven't been able to find kraft big and thin enough.

You should check this kraft out http://www.origami-shop.com/en/kraft-ca ... -3492.html
I haven't tried folding Ryu with it but I plan to do 2.1 out of it soon.

You would need 4 pieces of it to fold 3.5 though :(

Hi, I am from Australia. Yes, this is the best way I have also glued two sheets and it worked for me.

Damian hasn't visited the forum in over three years, so I doubt he's likely to respond. That said, it's not uncommon to find large rolls of Kraft or tracing paper. Some stores, such as Hiromi, sell massive rolls of kozo, though such paper needs to be treated with methylcellulose first and can be extremely expensive.
