Painting finished models

I just folded the flying kabutomushi by shuki kato out of brown tracing paper (my first time using it) and unfortunately all unused creases are clearly visible on the finished model and on " high-stress" areas the paper has lost it's color and now I want to paint the model.
Can anyone help on this topic ? I have no clue what paint or spray paint to use and how to do anything in general so I dont destroy this precious model.
Thank you !

Acrylic paint tends to work with pretty much everything. That's probably your best option in terms of painting the paper. And just apply it with an ordinary paint brush.

I also prefer acrylic paint for origami over other kinds of paint. But buy quality paint, don't buy the cheapest one you can find. At least in my country, there is a big difference between them. I would also suggest first testing it in a scrap of the same paper to see how it behaves.

Hope it helps.
