If you can scan the required article (i mean just the text) and put it on this, I am sure you will get a translation.

online translators only can translate the given text

I know a little Japanese.
You can scan the page fragment and send me the image.

I don't know if this would cause any legal problems though...

Of course it causes legal problems but since no one is going to sue over a fragment scan of a magazine sent for the purpose of translation why worry?

I don't think so. It probably falls under fair use. If you mass-mailed it to people, or posted it on a website, that would be different.
Yes, I am that Joseph Wu. Not that it really matters. And please call me Joseph or Joe. "Mr. Wu" is my dad. :)

It was a comment regarding the current legal actions being undertaken by the RIAA and several publishers, basically they try to claim they are losing millions to piracy just like they did when radios and walkmans were released.

A lot of publishers are jumping on the bandwagon due to the advent of E-Books, they want an end to free use which means no more listening to your music with friends, no more mix tapes and most certinally no more photocopying a diagram from a book :)
