Origami House - Reviews of books

Post by saj »

Hi people,

Just recently realised that Origami House (http://www.origamihouse.jp/book/bookindex.html) are accepting orders if you pay in Euros (€)!

I hope to get:

1] Works of Seiji Nishikawa
2] Origami Insects I and II
3] Issei Super Complex Origami

If anyone has experience with any of the top 2 titles I'd love to hear a review (complexity, range of models etc).

Origami House has some nice pics of the finished models on their site so I am very tempted to buy!

1.) Don't have it, wish I did.

2.) a.) Great book. All complex, although I folded them with relative ease.
b.) This one blew me away. THe models are extremely complex and require practice.

3.) Another good book. They're all complex, except, maybe his Pteranodon. The models are enjoyable to fold, although most have large numbers of steps.

They seem like great books to get.

Also, Gilad's website has reviews, etc.

Grab 'em while you can, Saj!

I'm sure you'll love all of them. The diagrams are
of very high quality and standards, and the models
are great - in all of them.

My favorite is Nishikawa's book - because of the variety
of subjects.

Another important thing - Origami House's publications
go out of print occasionaly - and when they're gone - they're gone!

And, as mentioned, you can see them all reviewed on
my page - with piccies.
