Well last year I folded Tomoko Fuse rabbit boxes for friends, I'm stuck thinking of something for this year so any ideas?

In the next few days I will be updating my site (onepieceofpaper.com) to include new diagrams. One of which is an easter rabbit you can print out, color in, and fold. Look great tucked into the front or back of an easter basket.

Thanks for the tips, I think I will go with the Egg and Hare origami to celebrate the true meaning of Eastre... Ostara has always been my favourite goddess.

It should be pretty easy to do a [pureland] zigzag painted egg. That's Eastery, right?

Hello all,

I have been asked to do an origami workshop at an Easter event. I was wondering if any of you knew of any simple designs that relate to easter that I could show to the people at the event.

Easter always makes me think of spring and vice versa. I think tradional flower models like the lily (think Easter Lily!) and tulip, especially when folded with pastel colored paper, make good Easter additions.

Ha, I was thinking about the same question about 2 weeks ago. And this is what I came up with:

The instructional video is done, and I'd be happy to take suggestions when it should be uploaded to YouTube. The earliest would be on Saturday (26 March), the latest on Good Friday (2 April).

rabbits, lambs, hens/roosters/eggs, flowers

I was mainly looking for a slightly more advanced model, so the below might not be as relevant. However, these two are simple enough for complete beginners, and have a clear Easter reference:

Sara, I noticed that you had folded Peter Engels' hatching chick and was wondering when the video would be up. Sadly the event is on saturday, so I think it will have to wait, nonetheless thanks for all those great links!

Ah, I think the hatching chick would be too advanced for your workshop. Unless, of course, they have done origami before. In that case I would be willing to upload the video on Friday. Else I'll upload it on Saturday or Sunday.

Oh, never mind. It's sort of an introduction to crafts so the people will not have any experience.

Sara, when you mention the Sheep by Hideo Komatsu, do you mean, you intend to do an instructional video about it? If you are, I'll be looking extremely forward to it!

Not sure, I haven't been in contact with Hideo Komatsu yet, and, as mentioned, I also don't have diagrams for the model. In any case, this probably belongs in a different thread: viewtopic.php?t=5444

Another potential idea for Easter origami might be the egg holder at http://en.origami-club.com//easter/egg- ... index.html

Nice for holding decorated eggs, especially for those with " young-uns " .

I've found that a 5" or 13 cm. square of relatively sturdy paper works best . Experiment with sizes , depending on egg size .

Wish that I'd known about it during my previous hobby, which was pysanky !
