so first let me start by explaining my situation. I'm a senior in highschool, and am doing a project for my english class. Its a simple research something of interest, get better at it blah blah blah type deal. I decided that i would do it on origami as i have an interest in it, and because ive never taken it very far. I've done a lot of folding over the past couple months, and i feel like I'm getting alot better.

My problem is this. I'm bored of those simple designs you can find for free online. So i've bought a couple books that have a more complicated models. One of the books i've bought is "origami zoo" by robert lang and Stephen weiss. On page 104 there is a model called the "golden eagle" wich i would very much like to fold. I looked over the diagrams and thought that i would be able to do it. But i got stuck.... on step5. wow.. i got so far =P anywho. It says to "unwrap the layer of paper from around the petal fold and reposition as shown in the next drawing". I really dont understand how to get from step 5 to step 6 =P Does anyone know of a better explanation or diagram? I really want to finish this model as it would be far superior to anything i have folded before. Please reply if you have any advice. thanks for any help =)

I'm also having trouble with this one. I'm stuck making the tail in steps 27 and 28. I just can't get my head around the steps. I've included a photo of the steps, here.

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

the lines that cross the tail-to-be are not folds (sorry no offence if you alredy know that) the first fold on the picture is pretty easy if you have done the nodding dog in the book advanced origami here is the URL to the book cover image:

http://image.misterart.com/grouppix/528 ... /g4751.jpg

copy and paste it to the URL

if you can't get the book i seggest letting the top of the tail go down as you pull, pull gently so it doesn't rip.
and when it said 'pull the raw edges of the paper out to the sides' the top of the tail will go more down

did you know that I'm 11 years old? (don't tell anyone or i won't be able to post anymore)

yea sorry to tell u this aurora dragon but the mods do read these type of topics so if they cared that you were eleven at all, they would do something about it.

i know this topic is old, but now i've recently started folding this eagle, and i've gone so far, i got stuck in the wings...after the 37th step... and i also can not get the point with the feathers-to-be parts, they seem to have omitted a step, since the very tip of the wing seems to disappear when making the pleats, at 39th step, the tip is there, in the next step its gone, like if it was inside-reverse folded or something... also, the book says to make the pleats in the "nearest" layer of the wing, which i have no idea what is it, because the wing has two layers, and i don't know if i have to make the pleats on both layers as one, or individually... naah i don't know.. it is not well explained i think...

jonsanfig: The model is tricky and, I agree at least, confusing at times. (The end result is well worth it)

I will bring the book in on Monday and try to help.
