Malachi is heading in the right direction. Don't forget all the earlier clues about the numbers either. If you put them all together, the solution might just be there...

I think I figured it out, after spending another hour or so looking at it. I went down another wrong path before I caught on.

I found it to be very tedious, even after I knew what I was doing.

Well finally worked it out after 2 days!...I came across the code by accident, and didn't know anything about the code until after i had found the clues!!

Tip: To find the letters you have to find the numbers, the numbers are not easy to spot but if you look really carefully it should become clear, you will have to look through most of the book to find them all.

I found the numbers first by accident but after that it was simple to work out the letters.

Wish i could help you more but i don't want to spoil it, and i might have told you to much already!

I have found that on the bear , lion , and the extinct bird the numbers for size of paper is different for english and french. Is this a typo or is this a clue? Also Which size should I use?

Not sure if its a typo or not, but it isn't connected with the code. All I would say is that the code isn't as complicated as that to find, it is just observational, with a bit of counting at the end.

I'm still totally lost !I'm sure that if I can find why page 11 gives you number ten and why page 54 gives you number 32 I can solve the whole code. Can anyone help me with some hints or tips please? [-o<

I think you are on the wrong way here.

Quote from Nicolas Terry's site:
Nicolas wrote:1/ Find why p11 #10 give the letter "t"
Check the rule with p54 #32 give "a"
So page 11 doesn't give you the number 10, page the numbers 11 and 10 give you the letter "t".
If you figured out the way that works you only have to find the remaining numbers :)
So long and keep folding ^_^

Yes I know that it is probably just the tenth letter on page 11 is t and the 32 letter on page 54 is a. I know that but I just can't find how to find the other pages and numbers.

Read carefully through all the hints given in this topic so far. Then take some person that haven´t had a look inside the book so far and give her a short overview about the given hints. Let the person allone with the book to search for the needed numbers. If that doesn´t help, try again searching for yourself...

So i've taken to scanning this book again. I've gone through all the clues given in this thread and I'm pretty sure what the idea is, but I just have to find one of the clues to confirm it !!!

the whole grin, hint, etc seems pretty obvious to me what i should be looking for...

at least I hope :)

Vignesh

P.S. Great to see some of you guys at the Spring BOS con recently with none other that Nicholas Terry as guest creator!

EDIT: omg!!!! I saw one!!!! now i just need to work out how it works :)

I am the 40th person to crack the code!!

and boy do i feel silly. I really haven't read this book properly at all.

My advice to all of you out there still trying to crack the code:

follow the clues given in the this forum and as Nicholas said:

"maybe you should look at ALL the numbers in the book?"
