Origami SD works quite well for simple models. Better skilled with the software could make quite a complicated set of diagrams, however, it churns out diagrams in postscript format, so if you have the adobe creative suite, you could open them, or the latest version of reader. If all fails, you can download ghostscript for free, which is what I did.

Does anyone here use microsoft paint to diagram? It's rubbish but it does pictures and text. I'm asking because it's all i've got to hand and Origami SD only works for basic models.

I would avoid Microsoft paint. Because it's raster based, it's difficult to fine tune your images. Even the vector based drawing tools in Microsoft office programs are a step up from paint. Inkscape is so much better, though. It's free and definitely worth checking out!

Ok, i'll checkk out inkscape then. Paint is the only piece of drawing software on the computer i use, so it will be good to have an equivilant worth using.

Imagine having a piece of paper, watercolours and a brush. > That's Paint, a pixel oriented painting software.

Now imagine having a piece of paper, a pencil, a ruler and set square, a rubber and several other tools. Wouldn't that be far more awesome to draw diagrams? You can have that with any vector graphic drawing software like for example the free Inkscape. Even MS Word is better for drawing diagrams than MS Paint is. But why go for something that isn't thought for a task like this when there is free software that is designed to fit exactly that purpose? It is for a reason that people use software like Inkscape, Illustrator or Freehand for drawing diagrams, you want to draw them and not to paint them.
