from time to time I use candle wax to conserve my models. it works quite good and is easy to accomplish. simply throw your model into melted wax

Dear Chris, I've always wondered how to wax models. Do just put it (the model) into a pot of wax take it out, and let the extra drip off? If so how long do you keep it in the wax and what kinda candles do you use? Oh and what is the best paper to use?
Thanks Funkee Folder

I melt common candle wax in a pot and simply throw the model into it. it takes only a couple of seconds. take it out and let it drip of a few seconds.
I've only done it with foiled papier, but I'm pretty sure, that it can be done with any kind of paper, that's not too thin.

The problem with most treatments that involve some sort of liquid (including melted wax) is that when you first put the model in the liquid (or spray the liquid on, or whatever), the fibres in the paper soften and the model starts to unfold itself.

Yes, I was referring to non-foil-backed paper. Sorry, I should have been more clear!

Have any of you used Tsuyadashi liquid to preserve a model?
If so, what tips do you have for using it?
