Best Photo Site to showcase Origami

Could anyone provide an opinion to the best photo site? Flickr seems the most popular but I've seen Yahoo, Piccasa and Devenart. I used Facebook, but then found out Facebook owns the photos once you upload it  but it's probably the same with the other sites too. I also use MSN spaces but the popularity is low :? .

Also, a criteria is linking those photos into this forum, which I've never done but I think you can do that easily with Flickr but can you do that with the other options?

Really? Facebook owns my photos? Something doesn't seem right there...

I say Flickr. The simple popularity of it is reason enough to use it. With a lot of other people with similar interests on it, you are more likely to get constructive criticism, and from people who actually should be giving advice (i.e. Joseph Wu, Quentin Trollip, Brian Chan with detailed suggestions instead of a 12 year old saying "u suk lol." Also, as it's all linked together it's like a community, also making it likely for someone to stumble upon your photos. Also, Flickr is nice and simple and the pages load quickly. I really prefer the interface over the others.

yeah, if you read the privacy part in the fine print, there's a part that reads that Facebook can use your photos (or something like that) in advertising. Anyways, I've learned to watermark photos so it'd be a deterant

I never thought about the constructive criticism part! That'll be awesome of the 'greats' even thinking to comment on anything I folded even if they are no where near par to their skill!!

I would definately say flickr. I've never even heard of anyone using picassa or facebook. DeviantArt is okay but there aren't nearly as many folders as there is on flickr.

Flickr is the most popular... and Joseph Wu & Quentin Trollip are frequent visitors.

A few people have used picassa, but those folks seem to want to be a little less public than Flickr.

Another option is to build your own Web site. Most ISPs provide space for Web pages, and that works in a pinch.

For example:

I have both Flickr & Fotki accounts I primarily use Fotki. I like the look and organization of Fotki better.

Only 30.00/ year for unlimited storage upload is simple and the UI is quickly learned.

You have various options for uploading photos, the site supports FTP

you can specify settings, copyright info, even map out your photos location.

There is a built in journal where you can talk about your photos.

Moving and reorganizing photos is simple. you can chose who views which albums, create passwords.

you can puirchase prints for as little as .09c each.

There are Monthly photo contests where winners receive year freemembership, you can vote on submissions, suggest contest assignments..

I have been using my Fotki for 5 years now and love it.

the one negative thing that fotki doesn't offer that Flickr does, is the ability to add comments within the photo, to point out key part of the photo, i find this especially useful when explaining Origami.
