Forever folding mail-shot?

Hey all, I'm new here so hi to everyone.
First off, I'm really sorry if this isn't the right place to post (or if this is even allowed), secondly, I'm not completely sure if this is classed as Origami as I suspect sticking and cutting may have been involved. However, there is definately quite abit of folding going on.
This is what I'm looking to find out how to create:
Basically, when lying flat, the square opens in the middle vertically and folds back on itself to reveal a new face, this face then opens up horizontally and folds back on itself. Thisrepeats and is infinite.
I'm hoping someone may know the name of this object, or how to create it?
Thanks alot in advance.
Any help is much appreciated.
Scott.

It's clever, but there's not much origami involved at all. I'd guess eight pieces: four 1x1 and four 2x1 pieces.
It's similar in concept to a class of toys called flexagons, of which there are several origami examples-- but I haven't seen one in this shape. I'm pretty sure that would be possible with modular origami, and might be possible with one sheet-- anyone want to give it a try?

I still don't quite understand the concept. sound like a good challenge for Gadi Vishne or Anna.

Take 8 square pieces of heavy paper.
Mark the horizontal middle lines softly with a pencil.
Take two squares and lay them next to each other so that their edges meet on one side. Place a third square on top so that it meets the middle lines of the two squares below. Take sticky tape and glue along the two opposite corners of the top square that meet the middle lines of the squares below. Make two such pieces, these are the side flaps that you see on the second picture above. Turn the two pieces over and arrange them so that they build a large square (made from four small squares), one piece being on the left and one on the right. Take one further square and place it on top of the upper two small squares, so that it meets their middle lines. Glue it to these middle lines. Take the last square and glue it in the same matter on top of the lower two squares. That's it. Put some more sticky tape to all hinges to support them better.

Actually it appears like it could be made using only 4 peices, two 4 x 1 peices and two 2 x 1 peices.

I made a very simple modular Origami version, using 3 different modules:
I'll upload a video showing the piece in action soon.
Edit: Here we go:

I'm glad you like it. I just folded a cleaner version using only the lower two units. Maybe I'll find the time tomorrow to make a short video on how to assemble them. At the moment I'm too tired.
Hopefully the day we meet up will not be too far away

OK, I decided not to make a video but diagrams for this model. You can find them
here. To fold the modules and assemble them is very easy and can be done in a short time. Have fun
