backwards

Post by araknoid »

why are most japanese origami books printed left to right?
when did it start to be like this?
(the only book printed right to left that i know is one about folding the images of the buddha)
japanese manga comics, for example, are printed right to left, and require mirroring when translated, or read backwards like the originals, if the author is not fine with the mirroring.

In Japan you either write vertically from top to bottom, then you write from right to left, or horizontally then the text has to go from left to right.
On translated Mangas you often don't see that the text originally was vertically, but that's the reason they are written from right to the left.
