Modular design folded from waterbomb base?

When I was in grade school, a friend folded me a modular unit (i believe it was a dodecahedron) out of waterbomb base pieces. I never got a chance to ask him exactly how he made it.
Would any of you happen to know what design this is? I've scoured books and have yet to find this particular model.
Thanks.

I know two modular constructions made from waterbomb bases. One is made from six units and one is made from 12 units. The six unit thing holds together very well while the other one falls apart easily. The 12 unit one is known as butterfly ball and can be found here:

There is this one, very nice modular, who is kind of made from waterbomb bases (a bit modified for the assembling).

Wow, after so long I finally know what it is.
Do you happen to know the name of the 6-unit construction?
Thank you all so much for your help.

You can make an octahedron skeleton from six waterbomb bases.

The more I think about it, when I took it apart, it was only constructed out of out less than 12 pieces.
