Hi, during the summer at ousa John Montroll said that he would be publishing a new book with his polyhedra designs. I have googled the book: origami polyhedra design, but I get conflicting information. Some sites say the book was published in july, while others say september and april 09. Also, the prices vary. I was wondering when this book will be available and what it will actually cost?
Thanks, Ian

I had some e-mail contact with John about this and there was some extra work for A.K. Peters who is going to publish it. It was postponed but no idea when.

the book contains some models from the other two Polyhedra books, but most design will be new. It also contains a lot of info about polyhedra design.

ORIGAMI POLYHEDRA DESIGN by Montroll is now available. I got mine in the mail today. You can order it from the publisher AK Peters or Amazon.

Brian letting aside your friendship with John, could you please give a review of the book and maybe compare it with "A Plethora of Polyhedra in Origami"?

Thanks in advance.

The BIG difference is that John really goes into the design process and considerations, and uses a lot of math to show the process.

I really like the dimpled and the striped models, something you don't really see too much of in origami.

If you are a math geek, or just like folding polyhedra from a single uncut square, then you won't want to miss this one.

A few of the models will be pretty hard to fold with paper smaller than 8 inches, at least they were by me :-)

You've folded some already? I didn't think so since you haven't uploaded any pictures.

Here is a picture of some of the models I have folded. I could not find any of the striped ones I folded.
