for example,
1. how much can origami market make every year? in book/model/paper field
2. how many $ can a convetion yield? what can a convetion do for the city
3. it is said that origami has been used in scientific research, but what I only know is something about Robert Lang. where can I find more

I want to write something about origami, but not focus on the diagram, in which the sicentific use and its profit should be described heavily. So if there is this kind of statistics in some reference, that will be great.

thanx

If you want to get some solid numbers, especially about conventions, try contacting some large origami organizations such as Origami USA and BOS. I can tell you right now, though, origami books do not make much money for the authors...unless that author is someone like Margaret Van Sicklen.

Yeah... No disrespect to Margaret, but isn't it strange that the more proficient authors get less money for their work? There have probably been many more books sold by Duy Nguyen or MVS than Robert Lang and John Montroll.
