I actually never saw folded it by someone else (not the author), so i'm starting to think that no one folded it !

This model isn't particularly tricky if you know boxpleating, but I would imagine it being a LOT of work and a danger of tearing because of the amount of layers on the model.

So basically, I would divide most of the strip to the gray grid that shows behind the crease pattern, then crease all those diagonal folds and collapse.
