How do I.....

Post by suziequeue »

I've probably bitten off more than I can chew but....

I am looking at Tomoko Fuse's book on Floral Origami Globes and made the structure made up of twelve flat units.

This seemed pretty straightforward and I got a nice little shapr out of it.

I decided to go for a more complicated project so - keeping with the twelve unit structure I went for the Centre Gathering/Type III 12 unit structure.

I have made all the base units and thought I would fit it together the same as the flat 12 unit structure but it's more complicated than that :-((

Should I make four 3 unit structures and then fit them together or make one 3 unit structure and add the other base-units to it to build it up - like I did with the 12 unit flat structure?

Grateful for any advice.

Hi Susanna,

I have a copy of "Floral globes" but it's in korean so I don't know exactly what model you're trying to assemble, anyway I usually start with a 3 unit structure and then I add one unit at a time.

Since you already made a model, I suggest to use the same assembly method.

Hope it helps

Thanks Francesco. All worked out well the second time around once I understood the pattern of the shapes better.
