What does "OPUS" mean.

Post by Pugfold »

I have seen this word "OPUS" around many origami websites, even on my origami iphone app, it says

Author - Model - Opus 134

I am just wondering what this means.

It's the number that shows which number model it is that that specific designer designed.
P.S. My name is, as you know, also Noah, but the weird thing is that I also asked this question.

Its not a necessary thing though. Deciding to catalog your work by opus is purely choice. I've only actually seen 2 maybe 3 folders who actually do it, anyway.

I personally don't bother with it.

Yes it is only handy if you have designed a lot of models. For example Robert Lang has a model named opus 554 > at least 554 models designed.
