If anyone's looking for a quick insect to fold, I upped some diagrams to my DA the other day.

I have one brown/gold deluxe washi sheet left. What should I make of it?
I already made Kamiya's mammoth, Quentin's giant anteater, Spectacled bear by Nguyen Hung Cuong, and periodical cicada by Lang.

Make a golden bellied brown Lafosse squirrel--that would be so cool :)

The model actually doesn't need very thin paper. I've done it from normal copy paper and gotten a pretty good result.

Oh cool! This is the next on my "will-fold" list after my origami school projects are done. (I've never folded a bug before--this might get interesting, and by that I mean possibly disaster) :) :P

:O you've never folded a bug before!?!
those are one of my favorite things to fold!
theres only two bugs on my flickr because the others were disasters, but go check 'em out. i think i may have done somewhat good on them. both of the ones i folded are complex, but have easy to accomplish folding sequences and easy to follow diagrams. you'll understand if you fold them.

All I can say is be very careful on the closed unsinks starting at step 41. They can be very difficult, and I tore several sheets of paper back before I was better at folding. Besides that, only the open sinks in step 60 are any difficult. Good luck folding it, and I'd love to see others' renditions of my models!

@Phillipcurl Haha, those bugs look cool! :)
I'm sorry I haven't folded your favorite models yet. I never bothered to fold a bug because lots of the models need thin paper to make legs and things. Thin paper doesn't come my way that often, so many models that might need foil or tracing paper are kind of out of my range...maybe your enthusiasm for bugs can encourage me to haul myself to an art store ;)
@Baltorigamist Don't expect anything stellar, but I will try eventually -promises- :D
I just wish school wouldn't get in the way....

thanks, flame!
i messed up on the other side of the cicada though (splashed some brown paint on it somehow...probably happened when i was dying some paper for a roach or soomething.) and i put too much MC and it made the other claw all wrinkly.

Oh, I thought that was a texture you were trying to experiment with....
I don't see any brown paint (unless it was on the other side)....maybe it got attacked by a dung beetle? :P

the brown paint isn't visible easily in the picture. and only one of the claws was screwed up :c
the other one was perfect...it would have turned out a lot better if i had known what i was doing.

What do you guys think I should fold from a 50x50 cm piece of elephant hide, light brown/beige in colour. Any suggestions would be massively appreciated because this is my first experience with elephant hide and I don't know what to do with it.
