For people who have folded with origamido: do you have to use MC for origamido or is the paper good and sturdy enough without it?

FWIW, the Minotaur I folded was without MC - it's just a little too flexible at the shoulders for my taste, but the paper is ultra strong for its thickness...

I am planning to fold my first Origamido model today Kamiya's Locust. It has a lot of layers, but I am afraid the legs will spread apart without any MC. Or can it be applied after the model is finished?

The long legs have a lot of layers...

I'm quite sure you can apply the MC afterwards, I did just that on Lang's mantis:

1. Michael Lafosse recommends MC for his Frog paper. I don't know about other Origamido paper, but I assume it is true for the other paper, too.

2. When you wetfold from the beginning, you get a nice flexibility and roundness that gives warmth and realism to many animals.

3. If you wetfold afterwards (partial wetfold), you can use the MC to help with shaping and even like glue. I believe that you still may need a clamp or clothespin to hold the flaps in position until the model dries.

I like origamido much much more when sized with MC. Without it sure its thin, hold creases well and is almost indestructible but its not crisp enough at least for me.I tried folding insect without MC and it was too soft, after adding MC it was just perfect.

It stays thin, even with MC applied. Didn't someone ask this like a week ago?
