I am clearing out my collection of OUSA / BOS convention books on eBay. my wife and I are expecting our first child and I want to thin my collection of 400+ publications out a bit I have listed every OUSA convention except 1981, 82 and 83 and many BOS convention books. Quite a few of these books are out of print and many have models found no where else. I will also be listing others in the coming days, including some CDO conventions and duplicate general Origami books. Have a look and feel free to bid. Thanks!

Sorry, Is there any way the postage prices can be lowered to a more reasonable price?

Is there any website that lists the models in each BOS edition?

Clearly you're never used the Database. It's useless.

Wouldn't even think about it, 50% more to ship, and I don't live far away. The seller should ship UPSS book rate. Far less money.

The extensive, long-standing efforts of Dennis Walker, Saj Khan, Gilad Aharoni and Paula Versnick , as well as many, many others, is undeniable !
With a little effort & creativity, one can access a great deal of origami information from the origami database.
If you find it perplexing, I'd recommend that you read the FAQ that is provided on the homepage.
Obviously we all would like to see more photos, info etc. If you feel that it is lacking, then step up , contribute to the database in a constructive manner.
Finally, one may choose to not utilize the database, but it is probably poor form to outright insult the efforts of those who work so hard to improve it.

i dont like the database either

perhaps i'm reading something wrong, but for me shipping & handling is ~ $5.00 to my location. this is comparable to say, kimscrane, OUSA, or even origami-shop (paperjade ships for free, but they jack up the original cost). there is a low chance of being outbid (sorry, pharmjod ), so you're very likely to get these books for the asking price of $9.99, which is > 50% off of the original OUSA price (not even counting their shipping & handling).

o 2008 OUSA - satoshi kamiya cicada nymph, nguyen cung huong chef rat

(certainly i would have bought the latter two instead of OUSA).

for ~ $15/book this is not that bad at all. this board was practically peeing on itself to pay $40 for the CDO with kamiya's minotaur in it, so i don't understand the complaining.

It is useless. I would say roughly 90% of the models have no picture. For each of those BOS books I clicked on, I found at most four, but usually no more than 1 or 2 models listed per book.

Search for something on there sometime. Oh, a crab you say? By Yoshizawa? Well which one, we list 14, and there isn't a picture of any of them. Nor are there any pictures of the books themselves.

You complain that there are no pictures? Add some! The Origamidatabase is only as good as we make it. If nobody adds pictures there won't ever be any. If everyone who folds a model would check back if the database has it and if not adds it, the database would become far more useful within a short period of time. The same is true if you get a new book. You can add its contents. And the best thing there is even a prize for the person adding the most data in one quarter year.

I was simply under the impression that it was an old site, and hadn't been updated since the mid 90's. It reminds me of old websites.

Sorry for the late response. Work has kept me busy the last week. i combine shipping on all purchases and if you win enough books I can be flexible on the shipping auctions (except for international customers... priority is just simply faster and safer for me to ship). I use priority mail because I get the supplies for free from the USPS and I can print my shipping at home easier that way, but again I'm flexible. I think the costs are indeed very reasonable given the original costs from OUSA, even with shipping. I make very little on shipping (very slight discount to print online) and that really doesn't offset ebay / paypal fees, so I'm not trying to gouge prices. I just weigh the book + box and list that in shipping calculator. If anyone has questions, email me directly from the auctions. I get those emails very quickly. Thanks for the interest.

Also, the Origami Database isn't perfect, but its a great resource and a lot of time has gone into it, so as Anna stated, if you want photos of models, upload them yourself. Contribute

Yes, I know there are problems, but finding the time to correct them is difficult and I try to get bits and pieces done when I can.

Yes, more data is always welcome and there is a prize draw every quarter for people who add data (it's actually a random draw from everyone who added over a certain amount of data, and it's not much!)
