PCOC

As a Washington state inhabitant, having PCOC in Bellevue this year naturally got me excited. I have never been to an origami convention before and wanted to get your guy's opinions on these conventions. Does anyone from this forum plan on attending? Has anyone attended one before and if so, what were your impressions of it? I'm just trying to make sure that if I do decide to go, I'm spending my limited amounts of money on something that will be new and exciting.
Thanks everyone!

I've never been to PCOC, but I've been to OUSA twice. From pictures and reports of past PCOC's they are usually a smaller convention, but generally attract more foreign visitors since they're on the west coast. The standard convention usually includes a great room, class rooms, and an exhibition room. Its a great opportunity to meet origami designers and stock up on materials and books, as well as make a few friends. I think they usually have a group outing as well (visiting local attractions), after the convention.

Anyone know if any there are any origami conventions that come through the midwest? I live in minnesota, so the closest city that might have one would probably be chicago

Ooo

But unfortunately, I'm 13, so I it'd be pretty tough talking my family into a vacation to Ohio for an origami convention
Edit: Holy Sh**, you're Robert Lang. Hi!

There are quite a few luminaries on the forum, but they don't say much usually. They just pop in occasionally and share their bits of wisdom =p. Joseph Wu, Quentin Trollip, David Brill, Jason Ku, and lots of others stop by.

Joseph Wu stopped posting after some copyright discussions that happened in this forum.
