i hope, a anna won't worry about me doing this little advertisement to promote her first book.
amazon.de does list it as a preview but a friend of mine already bought it at a local store here at dresden:

there are 64 pages with her very own models shown with colour pictures and clear step by step diagrams.
in germany it is sold for 12,95 euro.

Most publishers are happy when their authors are interested in promoting (and selling) copies of the book.

If you send your publisher Nicholas's contact info, they may be interested in using him as a distributer.

If you are able to collect money, your publisher may 'sell' you some copies, which you can then re-sell....

Most authors don't usually like to do the promotion and sales, tho.

Your publisher should provide you with a small number of free copies and forward copies to you at their cost. I advise strongly that you keep some books around, they make GREAT presents. It may not feel like it, but you've make a significant achievement getting them to publish your work. Most people recognize this, and truly value manuscripts of authors they know.

You should take books with you when you go to Origami meetings, and sell copies whenever you can. People also love to have book signed by the author. The more of your work that's out there, the more there'll be. If your publisher is anything like mine, the vast majority of promotion will be done by you.

Lastly, I don't know about Germany, but in the US your travel expenses are tax-deductible when taken in support of your revenue-generating business, i.e. your author royalties. It is rather nice to have tax savings from something you would have done anyway, and here it is perfectly legal.

I got 10 copies of the book as part of my payment. Those are for some special people like my family, my test folder and of course myself. Promoting is done by the publisher. It's one of those hobby books you can get in every bookshop in the German speaking area. So the market is rather big. Of course I will take a copy with me to conventions, but I won't sell the book myself.

If you attend a gathering outside of Germany or Austria (which seems likely given the ease of travel in Europe) you may want to reconsider. Your work may not be available there, and those around you will likely appreciate your efforts. If they see it but then have to order it, they don't get the pleasure of receiving it from you or getting your signature. Point of purchase is powerful, and can help get your work out. An artist must always promote their own work.

I always take books to fly-ins (where pilots meet by flying in their own aircraft), and I almost always sell a few. It is a market that doesn't see Origami books, but that is not averse to one like mine. I suspect my next book will be even more amenable to this approach. Of course, there are far more fly-ins than Origami conventions, thus my own promotional opportunities are quite different.
