I saw this book, Origami Pet Park, and decided I must own it (http://ameblo.jp/oripet/). Does anyone know how to purchase this book in the USA? I looked for it on Amazon.com (for U.S. shoppers), but they do not offer the book. Maybe I have to go to Japan to purchase it.

Incorrect! After searching through amazon.jp I found that you can buy it here.

IS it jsut me or do some of those models look like cuts or multi piece?

The author has written another book, called Orirobo, which involves no cutting, so I highly doubt that that one does use cuts. Aside from that, i can see no telltale signs of cutting or glueing.

Some of the structures look too simple and clean yet so many flaps. Could be they are just well thought out.

They just look like very well designed models to me.

As I said, that could be ^.^ I just wasn't so sure. I have seen many cut and paste origami books around here since they never sell any of the good ones.

I know this is an old topic, but I was wondering if anyone has this book, and if you do, do you think the diagrams would be OK for someone who doesn't speak (or read) Japanese?
The negative reviews on Amazon.co.jp seem to be complaining about the quality of the diagrams (as far as I can tell from Google translate), so I'm worried they would be even harder to understand for someone who doesn't read Japanese. I really like the style of the models though...

I own the book and do not speak/read Japanese. So far I have managed to complete all models I attempted.

Well, I heard that the diagrams aren't too clear. I agree, the models looks great though!

Well I've got the book now and have folded a few models. It's a lovely looking book, and the models are very nice.
The 'diagrams' are good quality colour photos with lines/arrows etc drawn on them rather than being drawn in the usual style. This means they're less clear than most of the other books I've got, but then again because they are very good photos it's easy to compare your model to the picture and see exactly what folds are right and which are wrong.

Some of the diagrams start with a bit of text like "blah blah 20 blah blah 4-6 blah blah", by looking and comparing with other diagrams I've found it quite easy to work out what it means eg "fold up to step 20 of the cat model and miss out steps 4-6".
Also, the book reads left to right (like an English book) which surprised me because other Japanese books I've seen read right to left.
