Andrey is incredible. On his flickr account he mentioned that there should be around 25 diagrammed models and a section on design theory.
He finished full diagrams for his Dear Head already and has a preview of the last page:

I must confess I'd like to buy this book as soon as published (if it's in digital version, better, as it will run home faster than paper ;-)

I didn't notice the steps  . I'm not good in maths so if there are 104 steps for the Mantis Shrimp op.62 (version 2.5)... 180 steps for the Deer Head... Oh my God! This one must be impossible!

Here, there is some information about the book Andrey Ermakov told me and, with his approval,

I read someone (I don't remember who now) cryied about having passed 2 years waiting for the book. Well, I can tell it's, if everything goes as expected, it will be here available on 2nd quarter of 2012.

Here it goes the information:

1) What language will it be in?

Unfortunately only in Russian. Translation of technical texts to other languages is extremely difficult and requires tremendous effort and time (editing, literary treatment, publishing issues, etc.)

However, I'm trying to make the book as most informative for any reader in any language as possible - with help of hundreds pictures and illustrations that describe each action mentioned in the teoretical part. So with patience, wanting to learn and with the illustrations, it may be not needed an interpreter.

Pure mathematics in the book will be very small. The main emphasis is on practical use of theoretical knowledge with the use of available tools: pencil, ruler, sheet, etc.

2) Will it be a printed book or will also be available in PDF?

It will be printed only. It will be two-colored diagrams, A4 size, and ~400-500 pages.

In the book, there will be 21 diagrams, 8 CP's, 3 secret origami puzzle with secret codes and... a secret bonus prize ;-)

3) As the book will be in Russian, will it be available to international buyers?

Sure, the book can be ordered via the Internet worldwide :-)

Let me suggest that as much text as possible be made available in digital format to allow non-Russian speakers to run the text through Google-translate. Also, for the text that doesn't machine-translate well, it will be possible to cut&paste Russian phrase online for suggested human translation.

With 100s of pictures in the book, I imagine that copyright infringement of the text alone would be impractical, minimizing the risk of illicit use, if the text is provided for translation purposes.

Hello!
My english is bad... Please use Google translate (russian-english):

"По договору с издательством моя книга выйдет из печати через 2,5 недели. В ответ на поступившие вопросы, публикую небольшой анонс того, что будет в издании…

Image

Image
