70 steps in so far, I spent hours just to figure out a decent folding sequence to fold the thorax, head, and abdomen transition which is quite similar to Lang's own technique for his first stag beetle design. I'll post the final page for this one when I finish it an that might be it with the previews. 8)

seventy steps?! That's incredible for such a short time period! This book will be out in no time!

I can't wait for this book. Tonight I just caught up on some things that I've been watching to see if there is any new news. This was the last thing on my list to check, and it made me happy to see that there is activity. I know I'll have to be patient (I have patience, obviously, since I do origami), but I know what is on my wish list.

In case the picture's a bit small to read, 165 steps!!!

Is there such a thing as too many complex models in one book? because where this is heading nearly every model will have over 100 steps.

I too am looking forward to your book (even after Hideo's, Andrey's, Tanteidan Convention and the forthcoming Eco-origami and Satoshi's vol 2 ... what a year!). I for one would be happy with complex only. Not because I only like complex folds but because that is what you do best. Including simple models to try and "ease" folders into the harder folds or to boost the model count wont be needed to appeal to your market in my opinion.

I like the idea of including simpler folds. Of course, Shuki's complex designs are all good, but so are his simpler folds. I do both, and I like most of Shuki's models. And your right... so many good books this year!

Hey, thanks! Do you think I should still include the simple dragon and western dragon v3? I've already made those diagrams widely available and some might be disappointed to see them in the book.

either way, none of the models are that 'simple', the least being I believe 43 steps 8)

I think you should include those. Not everyone that is going to buy your book knows to check on your flickr for them. At the least, you could include a QR code link to them, or something similar :)
