When i draw fanart, i get annoyed afterwards that it could never be official, which is why i rarely draw fanart.

No, i believe HG ans SS are still Gen 2, for they deal mostly with Gen 2 pokemon, plus thier starters are Gen 2...just upgraded.

yea, no. They are remakes of generation 2 games. they are for completely different game systems, plus a 9 year difference. going by your logic, firered and leafgreen would be generation one. the generations have nothing to do with pokemon, pokemon go by regions. its the gameplay and upgrades and systems that determine a generation

That doesn't make sense. Leafgreen has hoen pokemon in it, although it has gen 1 starters, so on second thoughts, yeah, it does!

You mean nintedo have brought out a new version of porygon? I thought 3 was enough! Or do you mean that they're promoting the current 3 a bit more?

Edit: Oh, hang on
Is it things like mareep and meganeum (or something like that)

No. I have Crystal and Gold. Basically crystal is a more modified version of gold/silver. For example you can't catch mareep, girafarig, or ampharos in the wild and pokemon like snubbull and growlithe are introduced much earlier in the game and are much more common. Everything else is about the same. Gold and silver are just a bit different with different times to catch and different rarities of different pokemon. crystal has the same introduced pokemon as gold/silver. Meganeum is still available in gold/silver as the 3rd (?) evolution of chikorita. no extra pokemon are introduced in crystal but there are some pokemon you cant catch in gold/silver

Thanks! If i was an english teacher, i would be telling you how good your explanation was gramatically and just generally, but i'm not, but that doesn't mean that i can't say that your explanation was very very good- thanks!

In Celadon (?) city (well the place with the game corner in kanto) if you get 9999 coins you can trade that for a porygon. I'm pretty sure that's the only way besides what blueapplepi said unless theres a trader somewhere...

That's in firered. The coin case doesn't hold that many i don't think. I think you can only trade it in from leafgreen. My sister found that out.
