anyone into metal/hard music?
so i've talked to a few origamists, and most of them seem to be into rock music (like green day).
i was just interested if anyone here listens to hard music like hard rock or heavy metal. you know, like led zeppelin, iron maiden, black sabbath, etc.

Re: anyone into metal/hard music?
The heaviness depends on the song more or less, but I'm a huge fan of rock and metal.
Skillet
RED
Thousand Foot Krutch
12 Stones
We As Human
August Burns Red
A Day To Remember
Phinehas
Ashes Remain
Nightwish
POD
Breaking Benjamin
Flyleaf
There's probably a few more that I can't think of, but those are the main bands.

Whoa, balt, you listen to Skillet? :O
I mainly listen to greenday, and all other 80's and 90's stuff. most music these days, in America at least, is trash.

Yeah. I prefer their pre-Comatose stuff though, since Awake is too watered-down for my tastes. They have an album due in spring, so we'll see how that ends up.phillipcurl wrote:Whoa, balt, you listen to Skillet? :O
True dat. But I also listen to trailer music while folding (Two Steps From Hell, Immediate, etc.), and it's basically my cure for mainstream music.phillipcurl wrote:I mainly listen to greenday, and all other 80's and 90's stuff. most music these days, in America at least, is trash.

I agree, pre comatose was their best period. two steps from hell is awesome, i used to listen to them all the time last year. don't have a computer anymore, though.

Phillip -> TSFH has a few public albums now--check Amazon: Invincible, Archangel, and SkyWorld are public, and I'd buy all three if I could afford it.
Though I like how they incorporate elements of rock into their music. You wouldn't think trailer music would have electric basses, guitars, etc., but it has a really good effect on the songs.

Re: anyone into metal/hard music?
I honestly listen to almost anything, apart from classical and songs with really heavy screaming.
Favourite rock bands: skillet, red, pillar and nine lashes.
I also like: anberlin, linkin park and a day to remember.

Re: anyone into metal/hard music?
hey langko, nice to see you here! i'm tskorigami from flickr if you didn't recognize my name
so, well, as an addition, i can listen to anything as far as it's not religious or thrash metal. and i'm not really into classical, they're deeper, and i'm a more superficial listener. basically, i like what i like XD
i have many different favorites from drums n bass (or dubstep, however you'd like to call it), electronic (daft punk <3, i loved discovery) (and i also like the glitch mob), pop-punk (green day), power ballads (sure that this is a part of metal, but i consider them different, for eg, you can notice the difference between iron maiden's 'hallowed be thy name' and 'wasting love' or metallica's 'one' and 'fade to black'), and i'm not really into pop, but i like michael jackson's beat it.
and i listen to hard music when folding. zeppelin, maiden, gnr...
does anybody here listen to any of the bands i mentioned?

I'm a fan of Disturbed and Skillet.
I like Atreyu as well, though I'm not sure that would be catagorized as heavy metal.

On a tangent I like myself some Maiden, iwrestledabearonce, Agonist, and even some lighter stuff.
