Oh what a nice definition the German Wikipedia has for this:
Der Myers-Briggs-Typindikator (kurz MBTI, von englisch Myers-Briggs type indicator – nach Katharine Briggs und Isabel Myers) ist ein weder valides noch reliables, also pseudowissenschaftliches Werkzeug zur Einschätzung der Persönlichkeit. Es stellt eine Form der Persönlichkeitstypologie dar.
Translation:
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI short of english Myers-Briggs type indicator - by Katharine Briggs and Isabel Myers) is neither valid nor reliable, it is a pseudo-scientific tool to assess the personality. It represents a form of personality typology.
